Barbara Iaquinto, Founder and Chief Executive Officer

A General Motors scholar and cooperative education intern during college at the University of Illinois-Chicago, Barb was recruited into Ameritech-Illinois Bell Telephone’s management development program and was rapidly promoted Manager, Strategic Planning. She next joined a joint venture of IBM and Motorola as a member of the start-up team.

After the joint venture exceeded its business plan for selling excess capacity on the proprietary radio frequency network, she joined Commonwealth Technology, Inc. a civil engineering firm in Lexington, Kentucky to commercialize their captive environmental laboratory. Five years later, she purchased the laboratory with backing from angel investors.

Barb's next venture was to launch a city/metro magazine covering general interest and business/economic development with the backing of the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce covering the tri-state area of Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. This successful enterprise was later sold to Pioneer Communications in Des Moines, Iowa.
