Quintesocial

Frequently Asked Questions for Potential Social Directors

What is the #1 focus at Quintesocial corporate?

The success of our licensees and the satisfaction of Quintesocial members. We believe that Quintesocial is an important way to build a stronger social infrastructure that benefits our cities and the people who live in them.

Is Quintesocial coming to my city?

We have a list of cities in which we're planning to offer licenses starting in 2010 and 2011. Quintesocial cities are selected according to demographic and livability criteria which make them a good match for the services we offer. We can't list all of those cities here, but if you're living in a large metropolitan area with high livability, chances are good that your city is on our list. Send us a specific inquiry, and we'll let you know.

Which skills do licensees need most?

The most successful traits include strong business skills and acumen combined with the ability to create loyal members by development of high quality events, educational opportunities, and resources in their local communities.

How does Quintesocial assist a licensee in launching their operation?

First and foremost, the cities and an initial community contacts profile has been created for you. If the city demographics and livability criteria did not meet our objectives, a license would not be granted in your city.

Second, Quintesocial offers pre-launch marketing assistance.

Finally, we've developed fantastic web and technology tools for putting together a comprehensive city event calendar, assessing the interests of your members and matching them to events, and getting their feedback.

Is this a franchise?

This is not a franchise, but there are some similarities. This is a license arrangement.

What is the difference between a licensee and a franchisee?

Franchising is based on securities law whereas licensing is based on contract law.

In general, the functional difference between a licensee and a franchise is the degree of control exerted by a franchisor versus the degree of discretion granted to a licensee in the way the licensee runs their market.A licensor cannot tell a licensee how to do the work required, but can only tell what the job is that needs to be accomplished under the terms of the contract. A licensor cannot tell a licensee what hours to work, equipment to do the work, etc. In other words, Quintesocial licensees have a lot of freedom in operating their business in the way that works best for them.

Most people think of chain restaurants like McDonald's as a good example of a franchise: every restaurant built according to corporate standards, using the same architecture, equipment and procedures, and otherwise set up to replicate the same fundamental business in each market. A good example of a license agreement is Hilton Hotels, which are built and operated by independent entrepreneurs or companies in accord with a license issued by Hilton Worldwide. So long as the hotels are managed up to the high standards of the Hilton brand, the licensees have broad latitude to adapt to the city and market in which they're located. That's why some Hilton hotels are beach resorts, while others are more like business conference centers, or relaxed family hotels.

As a licensor, we're careful to search for the best licensee candidates who possess the skills and capabilities as well as the business basics. Successful licensors create the opportunities for licensor success by making conditions available for the licensors to meet or exceed the contract with the mutual goals of licensee success and membership loyalty.

At Quintesocial we take pride in being a licensor who awards licenses, not simply selling them.
